Saving Your Furniture

I run into many pieces of antique furniture where the finish is crackling. When you look at it closely, you will see little "spider webbing" where the finish is rough looking. Many times this is due to age, but MOST of the time it is caused by being too close to an air duct or vent. Hot and cold air constantly blowing on furniture will cause the finish to crack. To save you a lot of money to have your antique furniture re-finished, simply close the vent or have a shield over the vent blowing down and away from the piece.
