Betty Wilson Appraisal Firm, Inc. is one of the oldest, most knowledgeable certified personal property appraisal companies in Atlanta, Georgia. Betty Wilson founded the full service, certified personal property appraisal and consulting company in 1969.
Betty turned her curious mind and knowledge of history toward the help and research of art and antiques in a little shop in Vinings, GA owned and operated by Ms. Nina Wakefield. Betty worked with Nina to classify and price container loads of antiques purchased in Europe and shipped to her shop in Vinings. After several years of attending classes at the University of Indiana and traveling from California to New York, Betty was awarded the highest certificate in her appraisal organization, ISA, as a "Certified Appraiser of Personal Property" following the rules set forth by the Federal Government, "USPAP".

All of these specialties conform to the Federal Guidelines called USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, established by the Appraisal Foundation. This is the only organization recognized by the Congress to be professionally qualified appraisers after taking the USPAP exam.
Melinda Wilson, Betty's daughter, received her certification through International Society of Appraisers (ISA) in 1998 and has continued her education through the Association of On-Line Appraisers (AOA).
Melinda joined her mother and the firm over 25 years ago and now is the head appraiser and consultant for Betty Wilson Appraisal Firm, Inc. She spent nine years in New York City broadening her experience researching art and antiques at many of the galleries and museums. During this time, she traveled to Hungary, Poland, Russia and Ireland to broaden her experience in appraising.
Within five years of joining Betty Wilson Appraisal Firm, Inc., she achieved the highest designation as a Certified Appraiser of Personal Property (CAPP) through International Society of Appraisers. In 2006 she became a Certified Member of Association of On-Line Appraisers. She took her 20-year experience with Betty and added to it. Declared an Expert Witness in Cobb County Divorce Court, she services many attorneys in all frame works of legal aid.
She was quickly recognized as a leader of her community and was chosen by the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce to become a member of "Leadership Cobb 2001-2002 and in 2005 became a member of the CEO Roundtable Group. In 2006, she was asked to join the Cobb County Executive Women's Group. She also served as a Guest Appraiser for "Treasures In Your Home" on PAX-TV in 2000.
